So I should try installing the package using the command line
installer? I've only been using the web interface and as soon as
I set the preferred state to anything besides 'stable' I can't
browse to the package I want to install - presumably because
list-all is failing...
Also, are you saying that the dependancy on alpha thing isn't a
problem on linux systems? I guess I'll just try it...
Ok, well My linux system still won't automatically install
Validate when I try to install DB_DataObject, and it still has
the list-all problem when I set preferred-state to 'alpha', *BUT*
I just figured out that I can install Validate manually through
the package dependancies list on the package info page.
So, I'm finding that the pear installer is *very* reminiscent of
apt-get. A beautiful and elegant system except when it doesn't
work.
Thanks... this was mentioned before, but you made it a lot more
clear - and helped me stumble on my own work around ;^)
