No this is the main reason why it is a new major version number. A lot of
things were refactored, cleanup etc.
Most of the changes will however be fixable through applying some regexp to
your code. The only big change is in the LOB handling which will however
greatly be simplified in MDB 2.x. Please check the archive for a little post
I made with a few hints regarding mirgrating to MDB 2.x.
Unfortunately there are still a few things up in the air with PEAR core
development which make me hesitant to make a new major release. But the code
is already quite stable.
