Linefeed in Spreadsheet_Excel_Writer?

Hello, is it possible to use linefeeds in cells? I tried different ones (/r || /n || /r/n), but none of them works as expected. /n seems to get nearest , it makes a visible "square" in the cell where the linefeed should be, and after activating the cell and leaving the cell again in excel the square gets converted to a real linefeed. Or am I doing completly wrong and should use a function for a linefeed (which one)? Thanks for helping, André Temme
