Hi,
This is the official warning:
Do NOT upgrade to Console_Getopt 1.1, it will break absolutely everything with the command-line installer.
OK :)
Now, to fix this, you can upgrade to the cvs version of PEAR, but you MUST also upgrade to Console_Getopt at the same time - this is very, very important. If you upgrade to console_getopt, and then on the next installation attempt to upgrade PEAR, it will not work.
$ pear upgrade package-PEAR.xml package-Console_Getopt.xml
This is the only current way to upgrade successfully. I've asked Andrei to remove the 1.1 release, and re-release as 2.0 to indicate the rather substantial BC break removing those 3 lines of code causes.
Basically, every piece of code that used Console_Getopt::getopt() and relied upon the fact that the first option is always discarded is now officially broken. This means absolutely EVERY piece of code that ever used it. The maintainers of PECL_Gen and System_Procwatch take note.
Regards,
Greg

Yeah, I have the same problem... The latest Console_Getopt is broken. I see you're committing some changes right now, Greg... any chance to get it fixed?
