How is "PEAR" pronounced correctly?

I've heared several different pronounciations of the name "PEAR". Is
it something like "peer"? Or similar to "pair"?
Hehe - if anybody knows for sure how to pronounce it please send me a
small wav/mp3/ogg/whatever-sample :-))
