I tried to keep it short - but wanted to try and cut down o nthe amount of
email going to-and-fro in order to diagnose the problem. Sorry if it is
wordy :-/

I use two methods, depending on wether the item is in a group or not, as per
QF examples:-
$eventDate[] = &HTML_QuickForm::createElement('date', 'eventDate', null,
array('format' => 'dMY', 'language' =>
$_SESSION['_lang'], 'minYear' =>
date('Y'), 'maxYear' => '1902', 'addEmptyOption' =>
true));
$eventDate[] = &HTML_QuickForm::createElement('link', 'help', '',
'?',
"<sniplongline>", 'class' => 'helpLink'));
$this->addGroup($eventDate, 'eventDateGroup',$language['L_EventDate']);
$this->addElement('textarea', 'detail', $language['L_Details'],
array('cols'
=> '40', 'rows' => '5'));
So, as far as I am aware they are pretty much added - they are displayed
fine on the page when rendered by QF - and post their values too.

Was a wild stab in the dark. Out of interest, how do the $_POST variables
get in to the QF container - what method kicks off the array copying?
