Although wiki is good as information storage it is hardly automated to provide notifications, bug status refresh and other things. It is also not a source for trustworthy information, which can be misleading and deprecated. User notes are much better this way.
The wiki will not be used to hold bug reports and take care of notifications, that"s what the bug system is for. User notes are *not* the holy grail, talk to sean you'll get a different POV than the idealized view one gets from just reading the ones that appear on the main php site. User notes are not more trustworthy than what would be in the wiki. Only people with a pearweb account will be able to edit wiki pages. Arnaud.
