Hi,
This is a very important part of the BC RFC as I envisioned it, perhaps things have changed with the PEAR Group's acceptance? Pre-1.0 means use at your own risk no matter what. Otherwise we stagnate the most important cycle of API development, when people have a chance to recognize that their initial approach completely sucked and redo it without having to do the BC dance :).
Note to Xavier: I am not at ALL referring to the quality of OLE's code, but speaking in abstract, just to be absolutely clear :)
I do think there is a huge difference between 0.9beta and 1.0beta1 - 0.9 still implies the API might need to change, and 1.0 says it is here to stay.
