Subject: PEAR Downtime Problem
[This message has been brought to you via pear.php.net.]
Hi, When you were moving servers yesterday, the redirect to the error
page meant that package downloads were being very very funny. Pear would
download the error and then think it had completed the package, even
storing it in the local temp directory and not re-downloading later.
Perhaps next time we should be sending 404 on the packages, or some
custom return string that PEAR will handle gracefully. If you need a
hand with that, let me know - would be more than happy to help out. I am
sure that the problem I saw with the packages being downloaded was being
experienced by people all over the world - it took me a while to figure
out why all the package downloads were 6-7KB :)
Cheers,
Nik
