status of Net_DNS

Guys, Just wanted to see if it would be fair to assume that Net_DNS is orphaned? package.xml is still version 1, no release since oooooh ages (october 2006!) and there are some outstanding patches that could do with being applied - notably the patch for bug 12487 which we need remedied in the company where I am working (and where the original reporter of that bug still works). There is also a growing consensus that any PEAR package that is currently licensed under the PHP License, which Net_DNS is, should be relicensed under something more favorable - see http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.php.pear.qa/3765 for more details.
