Greetings,
Please consider this my formal request for maintainer-ship of the
Net_Traceroute - yes, I know maintainer-ship isn't actually a word,
but I think you get the point. :)
Background:
I've been on the internet since 1975 - /really/. I've
spent the better part of it dealing with network related
aspects. Initially, with ARPA-NET, then a BBS, where I was
a co-developer for Bulletin Board System software - it made
RIP graphics look /really/ bad, I'm proud to say. I also
operated a fido-tosser (mail gateway) BBS <--> Internet.
Since then I've written in every conceivable scripting language,
as well as C/C++. I currently spend most of my time dealing with
hosting (clients), DNS and their related services. I recently
began evaluating CMS applications for the 50 domains, and several
hundred hosts attached to them. The one I most recently
examined, reminded me that I needed to update some of the online
utilities I provide. The online Traceroute utility is the one
that brought me to make this application - s when doing the prep
work for my traceroute utility, I discovered that the Net_Traceroute
package is no longer maintained. I'd love to take this opportunity
to become it's new steward. If you haven't noticed, Ive been around
for some time - point being, I'll not disappear anytime soon. So
you can rest confident that should you nominate me for maintainer,
this package /will/ continue to be maintained. :)
My current thoughts for it's future, are ICMP, UDP, and TCP
options. As well as providing several (more) /working/ examples.
Thank you for all your time and consideration in this matter.

P.S. I'm currently also subscribed to the pear-dev list.
