Thanks! Request is submitted. I've got some fixes to the MO file reader, plus I'm working on the gettext function compatibility adaptor... Long plane flights are great for productivity! ;)
In case anybody wants to pitch in before we get this updated in CVS, I've pushed my local commits onto a project space on gitorious: http://www.gitorious.org/file_gettext It's fairly straightforward (well, as git goes ;) to make a local clone and request merges through there.
Hi again Brion, Nice to see you already started working on it ! Some first thoughts about the code: File_Gettext: ============= The refactoring should be php5, the package is still beta, so BC is not an issue. I'm all for converting it to php5 only code (php4 is dead...). After you commit the fixes, I'd like to work on it and add functionalities, but that can come later. GettextCompat: ============== This should be another PEAR package I think. File_Gettext is a po/mo file parser categorized in the "File Formats" category, we should not mix the gettext file parser and the gettext pure php implementation. As an alternative, I suggest you propose a new PEAR package named "Gettext" categorized in the "Internationalization" category: http://pear.php.net/packages.php?catpid=28&catname=Internationalization&php=all You can propose the package with the pear proposal system: http://pear.php.net/package-new.php That's all for now ;) -- David
