Hello All,
My name is Pete Snyder and I recently mailed the list to ask about taking over maintenance of the
HTML_Select_Common package a week or so ago (I've included the text of that message below). I
mailed this list because of the instructions I found at http://pear.php.net/manual/en/newmaint.takingover.php
I don't mean to rush anyone or be a demanding thug or whatever, but I was hoping someone could
let me know if I'm contacting the wrong group of people, or if there are other steps I should
make in this request. I'm still very interested in taking part in the PEAR community and just
want to make sure I'm going about this request correctly.
As part of this request I'd also be excited about porting HTML_Select_Common and HTML_Select
over to HTML_Common2 to keep it updated.
Thanks for your time,
Pete!

Hello PEAR Quality Assurance mailing list,
My name is Peter Snyder and I am interested in taking over the HTML_Select_Common package. I'm
interested
for two reasons, 1) because I'd like to add some additions to the class
(HTML_Select_Common_Month,
HTML_Select_Common_Year, and other classes to handle similar repetitive tasks), and 2) because I am
interested in taking a greater role in the PEAR community and this package seems like a low
difficulty,
good first step.
I have been a PHP developer for several years and have built a couple of (moderately) successfully /
popular
PHP websites. If it'd be useful I'd be happy to talk more about my qualifications or
capabilities, but
mostly I just want to say that I'm excite about getting involved in the community.
Please let me know what else I can do to take over the HTML_Select_Common_Month package. Thanks for
your time!
