File/DICOM.php on PEAR.net

Hello, I'm a PHP developer for the healthcare sector and was recently working on a project that required a library to manipulate and read information from medical images devices (DICOM files). The PEAR pacakge was really helpful in the past, but when I installed it this time, it looks like there were some issues with PHP 7. I've resolved a few of the initial issues which were mainly syntax changes that PHP 7 is more strict about, but I noticed the project hasn't been actively maintained in a very long time. I would like to at least update the package for PHP 7, despite the lack of existing bugs on the package page. I am familiar with github and would gladly host the project there, but I also have my own SVN server if one is preferred over the other. This would be the first project I would maintain actively for the open source community, but I think this is an area where my experience might be helpful.
