help unsubscribe

Hi: no matter what I do, I can't unsubscribe from the pear list. I keep getting message saying the list is no longer active. But it is active. I unsubcribed from all the other lists at php.net that I needed to with success, just by using email command. How can I get off? I googled "unsubscribe pear" and found that other people were having the same problem, but there was no resolution posted... Thanks Doug
