Hi Greg!
On 02/08/2005 01:21 AM you wrote:
I wonder if the trackback mechanism could be modified to allow trackbacks from http://pear.php.net/Packagename as well as http://pear.php.net/package/Packagename. Incidentally this is misleading:
"The trackback URL for this package is: http://pear.php.net/trackback/trackback.php?id=PEAR_PackageFileManager"This is the URL where trackbacks are send to. S9Y supports automatic trackback determination, therefore, you do not need this URL for S9Y.
If I use this URL in my trackback, nothing happens. The only way serendipity will trackback is if I pass in "http://pear.php.net/package/PEAR_PackageFileManager"Thats correct. This is the URL S9Y will try trackback. It automatically checks for the trackback URL which is encoded in an RDF description inside the HTML code. Sadly S9Y cannot deal with forwarding using the location header. Therefore you can only use the /package/Package_Name URL, but not it's shortcut.
