Thank you for your interest in PEAR. Assigned is actually what you are looking for. Open means "new" or "renew" here. When someone is working on a bug or will work on it, the bug status is "assigned". About the bug stats, it displays the real status of the bug, the one which is set in the database, and not the magic "open" used in the search script. I mark this bug as bogus, please assigned it to me if you consider that we must change something, but please with some details (discuss them on pear.qa?).
