Ok, today is my first day messing with PEAR (more so the DB class) and
I'm trying not to play too dumb here...
I got everything working fine with MySQL but am having trouble with
Oracle connecting. I think a lot of the problem is not knowing the
correct syntax to use with the Oci8 connect string.
MySQL (works)
$db = DB::connect("mysql://login:password@localhost/db");
Oci8 (doesn't work)
$db = DB::connect("oci8://login:password@localhost/db");
I'm assuming I should be using the Oracle SID somewhere?
And yes, I've got my Oracle environment setup correctly - I've been
using the standard Oci8 functions for a while now with no problem, I
just want to get into the habit of abstracting the DB.
Any help or pointers to some help would be great. Is this list archived
anywhere?
Thanks,
Dennis
