This is the same problem as described in my previous message, however
some headway has been made:
1) The functions no longer return an error when called, that was due
to PHP4 requiring that the imported functions be all lowercase, while
the functions we were trying to import were uppercase, causing errors.
2) The same code works perfectly on PHP5, no segfaults
After some searching, I happened upon:
http://www.zend.com/lists/php-dev/200401/msg00494.html
This described very accurately the problem I am having, however we are
not using the atexit() function. The segfault does happen, however,
during the dl_close() section of the code when the script is exitting.
Does anybody know what changes between PHP4 and PHP5 may lead to a
solution to this?
