PDO install problem

I am trying to get pdo_mysql and/or pdo_pgsql to run on my SuSE 9.1 linux
desktop.
I have tried installing from the PEAR installer and doing it my hand with
phpize;./configure.
Both ways give me the same result:
configure: error: Cannot find php_pdo_driver.h.
I successfully install PDO with the pear installer.
I tried copying the php_pdo_driver.h file from the PDO source to the pdo_mysql
and pdo_pgsql source dirs, but I get the same error.
