The new PECL package igbinary-3.0.0a2 (alpha) has been released at https://pecl.php.net/. Release notes ------------- * Don't use empty string for serializing empty $_SESSION array, it breaks some save handlers. (Issue #231) Continue treating the empty string as the empty $_SESSION array when unserializing. Package Info ------------- Igbinary is a drop in replacement for the standard php serializer. Instead of time and space consuming textual representation, igbinary stores php data structures in a compact binary form. Savings are significant when using memcached or similar memory based storages for serialized data.
