clamav package to scan virus

Hello I just finished writing a little extension to scan a buffer for viruses. I used the default virus database location and the example from the tutorial for php packages. I wonder why no one has written a package like this already. If anyone would like to take a look to the code it is located at http://www.wittyadmin.com/clamphp.tgz This version only scans buffers and uses the local database in the default location. If anyone would like to make improvements feel free to do so. I would like to make it work with clamd but libclamav does not offer this feature. I compiled this package in Freebsd. I hope it work in other OSs
