bytecode solutions

Hi ! I would have your opinion on that i consider as a problem, if i'm right... i was a user of turck-mmcache to protect my code before concluding sale. it's useful for demos. though, turck-mmcache's website wasn't updated in a long while, i wrote to the author to check if it was still active and never had an answer, even the debian package was abandonned recently. so i been looking through a bunch of solutions which drove me to bcompiler, the pecl extension. It's last update was 2003-06-06 released in beta. and since there's only one person on this project, makes me wonder if it's still in work. I've been told also that APC used bytecode but after downloading the package i found no documentation, no example of use.... nothing. Anyone has an idea of what i should use ? (i won't use zend products because of the price, not that it's huge but my customers won't buy such a product just to view a demo) Thanks :)
