I am carefully attempting to deploy APC in a very high traffic environment. Using the latest CVS version, it was running well for most of the day, until:
[Tue Mar 1 15:32:37 2005] [apc-error] apc_fcntl_lock failed errno:35
[Tue Mar 1 15:32:37 2005] [apc-error] apc_fcntl_lock failed errno:35
That showed up in apache's error_log, and then apache went haywire, eating 100% CPU. Load shot to 250 :) I killed it and restarted and now all is well. Redhat Linux 7.3, Apache 2.0.52 prefork, PHP 4.3.9
My php.ini contained:
extension="apc.so"
apc.shm_segments=10
apc.ttl=600
apc.gc_ttl=600
