Sorry, I posted this to the pecl list, when it should of been here....
Im using PHP 5.0.3 (cgi) and I also get a seg fault with APD.
Here is my email I posted to the php.pecl.dev list
===========8<==============
Yes, Im having this problem also however Im running a Fedora Core 3 box
with PHP 5.0.3
I did notice however that if I try and run php --version from the
command line I get the following:
PHP 5.0.3 (cgi) (built: Mar 22 2005 04:02:38)
Copyright (c) 1997-2004 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v2.0.3, Copyright (c) 1998-2004 Zend Technologies
with Advanced PHP Debugger (APD) v0.9, , by George Schlossnagle
Note it states APD v0.9 which is incorrect it should read 1.0.1, unless
the version I downloaded which claims to be v1.0.1 is actually version
0.9?
Im just wondering, I was not able to run pecl install apd, however if I
downloaded apd I was able to run phpize, ./configure and then make
(eventually) and that shows that it creates 2 files. I assume that the
modules/apd.so needs to go in the php extension directory and then the
following configuration used.
;; activate the extension
zend_extension=/usr/lib/php/modules/apd.so
;; set the directory for trace dumps
apd.dumpdir="/tmp/php-apd/tracedump/"
apd.statement_trace=0
Note I have created the directory /tmp/php-apd/tracedump/ and just
while im testing it has chmod 777...
Any ideas? Does the modules/apd.la file need to exist somewhere or is
it not used by apd.so? Im guessing as because I could not find any info
about it its not used.... Even so I tried placing it in a couple of
directories and
still it produces a seg fault.
===========>8==============
Thanks
Alex

Please try using this CVS snapshot:
http://snaps.php.net/php4-STABLE-latest.tar.gz
For Windows:
http://snaps.php.net/win32/php4-win32-STABLE-latest.zip
does it still happen?

Moving to PEAR related since we don't have any better category for PECL
extensions..
