Moving to PECL

Hi list, I'm currently investigating porting the Midgard extension to the PECL repository. Midgard is a C extension for both Apache and PHP which adds a framework for building web applications to PHP using custom objects. More information is available at the project page: http://www.midgard-project.org/ Why the move? I like the idea of PECL and the build system that comes with it. What else? We're currently on the move to switch to Apache 2 and prepare for PHP5. As far as I understand PECL already is prepared for PHP5, so here I am :-) Are there any starting points?
