I was talking about librpm.h, not the actual data from the file. If there is documentation on the data in the file, then there's nothing stopping someone from implementing a non-GPL tool to read it. Right. Just wanted to make it ultra-clear since the thread seemed to be taking a left-turn on that point.
Andrew- So to clear things up for the rest of us, were you planning on linking against librpm? (Or any other GPL'd library for that matter?) -Sara
