Hello,
First, I'm new to APC and this *looked* like the appropriate place to post but I wasn't completely convinced so if my assumption was wrong, please let me know and I'd appreciate a push in the right direction on a resource to tap where I might find an answer.
My current issue is that I have compiled APC into my PHP/Apache environment and it *appears* to be working, however, after the first caching of content, any attempt to view content in another section of the site (another sub-directory) shows the initial content. Clicking around the various portions of my intranet seems fairly time delayed...eventually it will display different content but it's not the content you're looking for, it's what you were looking for two clicks ago. Basically, APC seems confused about cache hits and/or which cache to display.
System:
Solaris 5.8 (sparc)
Apache 1.3.29
PHP 4.4.0 (statically compiled)
APC 3.0.8 (statically compiled)
I was having severe issues getting Apache DSO to work on this system, thus the static compile of PHP. I had success compiling apc.so but had the same issue, with and with --enable-apc-mma added to the mix. I have not played with the semaphore locks. I have added the following to my /etc/system to make sure shm support was happy.
<snip>
forceload: sys/msgsys
forceload: sys/semsys
forceload: sys/shmsys
set shmsys:shminfo_shmmax=33554432
</snip>
This did in fact get rid of an error keeping Apache from starting (something akin to shm not supporting 32mb of memory on this system).
phpinfo shows that apc is installed and the apc.php page shows that apc is functioning. Pages are indeed being cached and listed as such in the cached pages list all the while using up some of my 30mb of shared memory.
Currently I have apc cache by default disabled and have set the apc filters to only match the wiki portion of the site. This appears to make things happy with the entire site, but is only caching the wiki portion.
Any hints, tips and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
M. Brock Harris
