A note on this.. If I change my fetch to fetchAll the cursor seems to be properly closed and it does work.
So basically a fetch on a single row does not close the cursor, not sure if this would be considered a bug, maybe just further doc's needed on the fetch page.

Using E_ALL | E_STRICT So there should be a clear error when going from one prepared statement to another if the cursor from the prior statement is not closed? I will put together a short example and submit it as a bug, Thanks. Remembered something about this from mysqli so I quickly figured out the closeCursor, put this after the fetch and now it all works fine. Either a doc, or is this a bug? Since there was only a single row of data should the connection already been "closed" for further use?
