PDO Session module: =================== - Is it worth writing in C? Probably not. I think it would be very possible to improve on the current session methods greatly, There are a couple things I would like to see that I either do with my own pdo php session library or would like to do but can't. 1. Why don't sessions keep some sort of hash at READ And check before WRITE.. Currently write is called EVERY page when in a lot of cases its not needed. ( this is one the session code could use in general ) 2. A option to store the data as seperate rows in the DB instead of serialized data. On large sessions this would speed up writes greatly as you would only need to update the data that was changed, although it you would be pulling say 20 rows instead of unserializing 1 row into 20 values.. In the end not sure if this needs to be part of PDO itself, maybe just some improvements to ext/sessions would do be enough. 1. Ability to set hash check 2. Ability to disable auto serialize and unserialize of data ( expect both read and write to return and accept an array ) -- Richard Thomas - CEO Cyberlot Technologies Group Inc. 507.398.4124 - Voice
