Extension Name: perror
Synopsis:
After you do exec (et al) and get an error number, you shouldn't have
to pop out to a shell to do 'perror' to find out what that error
number means.
This extension adds a very modest function 'strerror' which returns
the corresponding error message from the OS.
From the 'perror' man pages, it became blatantly obvious that
'strsignal' was the exact same formula, so I tossed that in as well.
Details:
Download and source and minimal documentation available here:

Several folks on php-internals and php-general asked me to add this to
PECL when I posted it a couple months ago, and I'm just now getting
round to it, as I was buried under at work for awhile.
I'll be using the email: lynch AT php DOT net for this project
(which I've had for years and under-utilize)
I think I already have CVS access to Docs on php.net, so I reckon you
just need to change whatever flags I'd need to keep 'perror' current,
rather than add a new acount.
Thanks!
