Hi Greg,
While attempting to add a stub to a pre-existing .tgz, I ran into two problems, one of them quite major. First, if you attempt to open the phar using $a = new Phar('/path/to/blah.phar.tar.php'), a bug in spl causes a double exception, which results in zend_bailout. http://bugs.php.net/44511That's interesting... how on earth did we miss it?
The other problem is that it isn't possible to add a stub to a data-base .tgz. This should always be possible if phar.readonly=0, and only disabled if phar.readonly=1.Why should that be possible in a standard (data-based) tarball? I thought the whole point of data-based tar/zip was that they weren't impacted by phar at all...
As a heads up, I've fixed this.I'm bemused... could you explain why? - Steph
