This sounds like the best option at the moment.
The diff is against current cvs. It was tested against PHP 5.2.5 and 5.2.6 RC5.
The application was compiled using bcompiler_write_file on each script.
Bcompiler won't compile against 5.3 at the moment mainly because of changes in _zval_struct.
I would like to fix it when 5.3 RC1 will be released.
