First, tidy is already included in Mac OS X so building and installing is a waste of disk space.
Second, if you just want to add the tidy extension to PHP then just build the extension, rebuilding everything just to get an extensions is a pain because there are static libraries that the build was linked against that you probably do not have unless you built the installed PHP and all of the dependant software, just be sure to build it so it will work with your version of OS X (10.5.x requires 64bit instructions).
As an exercise in add-o extensions I've pretty much build all of the extensions their are and know that tidy can be done with very little effort.

Hi, I am intending to install Tidy HTML on my Mac OSX. I've download "tidy-1.2" and I am using PHP 5.2.x. However, I do not know how should install it so that I can start scripting with Tidy HTML. Please advice. Thank you. Best Regards, Alex --PECL development discussion Mailing List (http://pecl.php.net/) To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.php-- Dale
