I'm using this extension in a huge project with Oracle 9i/10g. The only problems I've found are related to Clob columns, which forced us to replaced all Clob with Blob columns to scape from these issues. If you are planning to use it on your project take a look on open bugs for this extension (most of them are open for 1+ year). Maybe a better choice is to use OCI8 as it is under active maintenance and development, is contrast to "abandoned" PDO_OCI. Antony Dovgal wrote:

Hi, I'm wondering about the stability of the PDO_OCI PECL package. http://php.net/pdo_oci states it is still experimental but http://pecl.php.net/package/PDO_OCI has it marked as stable. Can this extension be considered stable for production or not?
I don't think it can be called stable or even finalized.
