First of all - zorba/xquery requires libraries correct? We'll need
windows versions of these libraries, built with Visual Studio 6 and
Visual Studio 2008 (VC9), preferably a static build so we can embed the
library in the extension dll. It would be fastest if YOU helped provide
these builds, otherwise you have to beg, borrow, annoy, or bribe someone
to do it for you (and the windows team is always short on manpower and
time). There's some more information in the windows area of the wiki
about things like runtime libraries and using /MD and other fun stuff
related to compiling on windows.
Secondly, if the libraries are ready to go, does the extension itself
compile with Visual Studio? VC is a fairly strict compiler and doesn't
let you get away with things like declarations wherever you want and
sometimes has different ways of doing things. In addition you'll need a
config.w32 (looks an AWFUL lot like a config.m4 - troll pecl for some
examples)
So if we have libraries, and the extension builds on windows - write
some tests so we can make sure it ACTS the same on linux and windows.
