Hi,
For the last couple of days I've been working on a new wrapper around the Pango text rendering library (http://www.pango.org) with the objective of making it useful for generating PDFs and images on web servers in combination with PECL/Cairo. I'd like to propose this to PECL. It's currently being developed at http://github.com/mgdm/php-pango but if accepted I'd put it into PECL's SVN. Pango itself is LGPL (like Cairo), and the extension itself is under the PHP licence.
(I realise there is also Pango functionality in PHP-GTK, but it's pretty well embedded in PHP-GTK's build system and not usable from a Web server.)
Currently the extension has neither arginfo nor tests - I'll add those before committing to SVN.
Any thoughts?
Michael
