Hi DevML, I would like to propose the pecl extension "MySQLnd Userland Handler" (mysqlnd_uh). The plugin let you hook a mysqli connection if you use mysqlnd and install a userland proxy class for every call. This allows you to write SQL monitoring tools in PHP Userland. It works with PHP 5.3.0 and a first version will be marked as 0.1.0 alpha.
Its an interesting idea, but is there any reason for doing this as an extension? You would have to update it every time mysqli adds new
This is not limited to mysqli as I understand it. David hooks mysqlnd calls. He hooks the library not the extension calls. mysqlnd hooks can be used with ext/mysql, ext/mysqli and PDO_MySQL. Ulf
