What's the purpose than of the common repository? - We had this in
another thread recently already.
I think a common repository makes sense if we can offer code review and
we can apply fixes. sometimes people are visiting #php.pecl, ask a
question and the fix is obvious, sometimes there are changes like
http://svn.php.net/viewvc?view=revision&revision=297236
which do global
maintenance. For all that the master must in one place.
On the other side it is a good aim to collect all extensions and giving
them visibility to show what can be done with PHP already. And maybe
prevent double work. That's a pure directory, though.
