Hi guys,
the stuff i'm proposing today is the varnish binding for php.
Varnish is an opensource caching system which could be found under
https://www.varnish-cache.org/
The extension base is the libvarnish, which exports some pieces of the
varnish functionality. The communication happens through tcp sockets or
locally on the shared memory. The socket communication could be surely
implemented as a simple php interface, which however would lack on the
shared memory features.
The functionality implemented so far:
- establishing connection with a varnish instance on the varnish
administration interface, done through the network or shared memory
- invoking administration commands such set/get varnish configuration
options, start/stop varnish instance, ban urls by regexp, etc.
- snapshoting varnish statistics
Things to do would be:
- load/reload new varnish vcl configurations and any other unimplemented
varnish commands
- reading logs from the shared memory
- better vcl parsing for ban regexps
- integrate poll for better timeout handling on socket operations
- beyond ...
The extension would be released under the BSD like license, as stands in
sources.
The current development state can be fetched from
