New Extension: PCSC (Smart Card communication)

Hello, my name is Johannes and I am using PHP since around 12 or 13 years. I like the simple usage of PHP. I am programming other languages like JAVA, Python, C, C# etc. too. In the last three years I developed Terminals for Smart Card communication. I needed an extension last year, for the communication to Smart Cards on the server side. Since everything on the backend was written in PHP I really needed to make it this way. So, I wrote an extension for PC/SC based usage of Smart Cards using the wonderful project "PCSC-Lite" for Linux. The extension is a wrapper to the API of PCSC-Lite and it works since last year without any problems. The code should be compatible to other OS's but I don't know because I only use Linux for development. I have cleaned up the code some days ago, thanks to Johannes Schlüter for his suggestions and nice help, and now I would like to hear what you say about it. I didn't implmented the complete API to the PC/SC layer but am willing to do that in future. I am using this extension for rapid prototyping of Smart Card based terminals, even on the client side, just for scripting my ideas down in a very fast way. It would be nice if you could take a look at the code and send me comments, suggestions, hints etc. what I am missing or should do in a nicer way...
