Inconcistent download statistic

Hi,
when I calculated the number of downloads for one of my pecl
extensions I get different values depending on what I sum up.
The sum over all releases is 4499.
The sum over all month is 4536.
And the number of downloads according to the overall
statistic for each pecl extension is 4115
(http://pecl.php.net/package-stats.php).
These are number for the ps extension.
The package has < 100 uploads a day.
Is there any explaination for that?
I realized about 2 weeks ago that the numbers at
http://pecl.php.net/package-stats.php got stuck
for the
ps extension, while the uploads per month and release
did increase.
