Hi,
I am a developer at /n Software, a company that writes libraries for developers. I believe that some of these libraries (for e.g ICharge a credit card processing library that supports more than 30 different gateways) can be great tools in the hands of the php-community and am trying to convince the management to release php extensions for the same.
The extensions will be released under the php license, but the libraries themselves are not open source at this time. (they plan to release the source after 2-3 yrs). Currently they are available as free binary downloads for non-commercial use.
The feature set of the mentioned libraries can be seen here
IPWorks : http://ipworks.com/products/showprod.aspx?part=IPC6-L
IPWorksSSL(SSL Enabled protocols) : http://ipworks.com/products/showprod.aspx?part=ISC6-L
IPWorksCC(Credit card processing) : http://ipworks.com/products/icharge/
Would I be able to have the extensions included in PECL? This would greatly strengthen my argument for having php extensions.
Please advice on the requirements of the licence that would be acceptable to PECL. Since I have come so far maybe I can push them to change their license a little bit. :)
Thanks,
Amit
