Hi Michael,
could you please try the config.m4 from trunk? To do this, get the package
tarball and replace the config.m4 there, then do pecl install package.tgz
http://svn.php.net/viewvc/pecl/trader/trunk/config.m4?revision=326807&view=markup
Looks like it compiles not under the same path where the source is unpacked.
