Hi,
I got the opportunity to test PHP on SuSe' ia64 (i.e. the upcoming Intel 64-bit CPU) machines.
kernel: 2.4.0-test8-SMP
gcc: 2.9-ia64-000216-final
php: 200009281245
Here're the compile warnings I got with ./configure --enable-sockets:
php_ini.c: In function `php_ini_refresh_caches':
php_ini.c:161: warning: cast to pointer from integer of different size
php_mysql.c: In function `php_mysql_do_connect':
php_mysql.c:499: warning: cast from pointer to integer of different size
tsrm_virtual_cwd.c: In function `virtual_getcwd':
tsrm_virtual_cwd.c:251: warning: passing arg 1 of `virtual_getcwd_ex' from incompatible pointer type
So, beside some little warnings, PHP 4 seems to be completely ia64 clean. It compiles fine and seems to run in command line, I can't test it with Apache.
BTW, compilation went very fast with make -j 4 (4 CPUs @ 500MHz): 3:25 minutes. This system was amazing ! :)
