Thanks for the answer Richard! wo if we want people to start trying to compile php with multiple servers for a single build, then I should make sure to not account for this possibility on the build tracker form ;) - Zak At 01:22 AM 10/3/00 -0500, Richard Lynch wrote:
You couldn't (I think) do it in one compilation -- But you could easily (well, for some definition of easy) set all the --XXX-DIR options and do another ./configure, and then run a whole 'nother bevy of web-servers on a different port that were configured to use the the second compilation's PHP libraries. In essence, you'd have two whole different web-servers running on the same machine, with different PHP libraries... Re-reading your Subject line, I'm thinking you already knew all that. I'm pretty sure you can't have "Multiple Server APIs in a single build." Although, there is that one ./configure option about --target-machine (or something like that) and it just *might* accept multiple arguments or something. I know I personally would get such a headache trying to envision that working and figure out which binaries are ending up where that I'd just run configure twice anyway... I'd also suspect that that compilation switch doesn't get much of a work-out, so I'd be pretty leery of it myself... If I'm even remembering correctly -- could be some other software does that, but not PHP. ----- Original Message ----- From: Zak Greant <zak@nucleus.com> To: <php-qa@lists.php.net> Sent: Monday, October 02, 2000 9:40 PM Subject: [PHP-QA] Multiple Server APIs in a single build? I am working on the build tracker and have a question that perhaps someone could answer. Is it possible to configure PHP with more than one server api? As far as I know, it isn't... however, given the depth of my knowledge in this area, I could easily be wrong :) - zak -- PHP Quality Assurance Mailing List <http://www.php.net/> To unsubscribe, e-mail: php-qa-unsubscribe@lists.php.net For additional commands, e-mail: php-qa-help@lists.php.net To contact the list administrators, e-mail: php-list-admin@lists.php.net -- PHP Quality Assurance Mailing List <http://www.php.net/> To unsubscribe, e-mail: php-qa-unsubscribe@lists.php.net For additional commands, e-mail: php-qa-help@lists.php.net To contact the list administrators, e-mail: php-list-admin@lists.php.net
