writing tests for ncurses

I started toying with ncurses couple of days ago, and hit a bug pretty soon (http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=27132 for the curious/interested). That made me think of writing a few tests for ncurses, and while the problem reported in the above PR is quite likely easily testable in whatever automatized environment you guys use these days, I'm not sure how to go about testing that e. g. php displays the output correctly (think colors).
