PHP|QAT Membership

Dear Sirs and Mesdames, My name is Mark Hershenson, and for the past three years I have been programming, administering, and deploying high-quality web applications with PHP 3/4, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and many other tools on Linux (i386/PPC) and Mac OS X Server / Mac OS X / Darwin. I have spent my recent professional years in charge of multi-million hits/day servers running PHP, developing enterprise applications for notable high-profile companies such as Informatica and HearMe, smaller companies such as Smalldog Electronics, the Macintosh News Network, and am currently developing a breakthrough dot.com called Panoptra using PHP. My short list of skills: * C/C++ * some Java * MySQL / PostgreSQL * script / web app development (PHP/HTML/etc) * database abstraction Having used PHP for as long as I have, I feel it is past time to give back to the project as best I can. I would particularly like to ensure that Mac OS X Server and Mac OS X are properly accounted for as well. I would like to: * Help flesh out long-term and short-term needs of users for functions and packages * Help with installation QA on Linux, Mac OS X, and Mac OS X Server * Start a DSO repository for different versions of PHP and Apache and platforms. * Investigate the possibility of adding SSL support directly into PHP functions such as fopen() and file(), or perhaps creating aliases to the appropriate CURL calls if CURL support is installed * Investigate a File Maker Pro database module for PHP * Help with the design and features of the PHP sites * Do tons of other stuff I¹m not even thinking about yet! :) As far as time goes, I can promise between 5-10 dedicated hours a week. While I should be able to help more, I can¹t really promise past this amount due to my professional engagements.
