This RC became necessary, because of two potential
showstoppers. If everything goes well, the release will take
place as expected during the beginning of the next week.

"make test" still produces errors when compiling with --enable-sockets:

(it works fine without --enable-sockets) whereas latest snapshot 200012140845 was fine with this: it passes "make test" when compiling with --enable-sockets. I saw your fix for this 1 or 2 days ago.
