Also, we should address problems with older function names like isset
and strtr...
yeah, that is a candidate, these strrpos,strrchr do all look the same, but we should not change them anyway as they are quite common in other languages, and substr() is really fine, at least these array functions should be aliased and these socket functions still have their initial names...
The only real exceptions (IMHO) to this should be the most fundamental
functions and constructs. I would not want to have to use functions
like print_echo and print_print (or even more horrible, flow_do,
flow_while and flow_if ;) [1]
I think targetting anything except statements/language constructs and very common functions makes sense
